Treatment Guide

Orthopedics

Orthopedics provides treatment to improve the function of the skeletal system, including the bones and joints that form the core of the body, the muscles that surround the bones and joints, and the nervous system that controls this whole motor system. There are various symptoms such as bruises, sprains, fractures, and dislocations, but we provide appropriate treatment in all areas.

Main symptoms

  • Lower back pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Numbness of the hands
  • Numbness of the feet
  • Knee joint pain
  • Hip joint pain
  • Sprains
  • Bone fractures
  • Fatigue fractures
  • Osteoporosis
  • Tumors (growths)
  • Nerve pain, etc.

PRP Therapy

Plate Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is often a hot topic in the field of regenerative medicine, and I think many people have heard of it. A famous example is that a professional baseball player underwent PRP therapy instead of elbow ligament reconstruction surgery.

In recent years, it has become clear that platelets contain a variety of substances called growth factors, which play a major role in tissue regeneration. Platelets have already been used in many medical fields such as plastic surgery and dentistry for the treatment of lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, and thinning hair. In the field of orthopedics, PRP therapy is also being used in an increasing number of clinics for regeneration of tendons and joint cartilage, and is also being used in our clinic.

Nerve block

Nerve block is a treatment to alleviate the pain of neuralgia and arthralgia by using anesthesia. The anesthesia varies depending on the site and symptoms, such as local anesthesia or steroid-containing anesthesia. It not only provides temporary pain relief, but also eliminates secondary pain caused by muscle tension, constriction of blood vessels, etc., and the effect can be sustained even after the anesthesia wears off. There are various types of nerve blocks, but we use four types: nerve root block, nerve plexus block, stellate ganglion block, and peripheral nerve block.

Rehabilitation Department

Rehabilitation medicine is used to prevent or recover from chronic diseases such as back pain and knee pain. In general, while each department treats disease, rehabilitation medicine remedies the impairment in order to resume daily life. For example, in the case of a broken bone, pain and swelling can be treated with medication such as painkillers, casting, and surgery. In the case of rehabilitation, in addition to these treatments, the patient is given exercises to prevent falls, which can cause fractures, and measures to prevent the same symptoms from recurring are also considered as part of the treatment.

Main symptoms

  • Joints stiffened by trauma
  • Fracture of the femoral neck
  • Thoracolumbar compression fracture
  • Periarthritis of the shoulder (frozen shoulder)
  • Osteoarthritis, etc.

Pain Treatment

This is a treatment to relieve pain. In addition to pain relief, another treatment is to remove the discomfort felt in daily life. The main treatment method is nerve block therapy to relieve the following symptoms.

Main symptoms

  • Headache
  • Stiff shoulders
  • Frozen shoulders
  • Lower back pain
  • Neuralgia
  • Knee pain
  • Shingles
  • Cancer related pain, etc.
